In a news release, the Jackson County Sheriff's Department said they responded to the scene of a train and pedestrian accident at around 8:55 a.m. After a preliminary investigation, the sheriff's department said they found that a Union Pacific train was traveling northbound near the intersection of Highway 367 and Jackson County Road 78, also known as Pond Switch Road.
