    Plans have been submitted for the construction of a new drive-through McDonald's restaurant in the Price Chopper parking lot at 111 E. Main St. A review of the $1.2 million project sparked several concerns from the St. Lawrence County Planning Board last week, including opposition to the building's proposed facade and issues surrounding traffic flow and parking lot design. The proposed 4,365-square-foot restaurant would have drive-through lanes and 29 parking spaces, according to a site plan submitted by McDonald's USA LLC. County Planning Board Chair Thomas L. Jenison said the board approved the plan, but identified a list of eight conditions it would like McDonald's to meet.

    Police are looking for a man who robbed the Hungry Howie's pizza shop in Jenison as an employee was closing the store early Saturday, Dec. 20. Ottawa County sheriff's deputies said an employee walked out the back door and was accosted by a man with a gun. The armed man then made the worker go back into the store and open the safe.
