    The Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming collected food from local communities Saturday for their sixth annual Feed A Neighbor event. Around 7,000 bags were distributed last week around local communities such as Westwood and Ishpeming, and this week groups of volunteers collected the full bags of food to distribute to the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul in Ishpeming.

They were scheduled to stay in Mackinaw City at the Hamilton Inn on April 11. The pair were last seen in Ishpeming around 7:30 p.m. on April 10. They did not show up at their hotel, and the family has not heard from them since they were last seen.

    The life and accomplishments of the World War II Ace of Aces fighter pilot Richard Bong were presented at Republic Michigamme Schools by the Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame. Bong, a Wisconsin native, flew a P-38 Lightning fighter designed by Kelly Johnson of Ishpeming and was responsible for shooting down 40 Japanese aircraft during the war.
