Crews logged a lot of hours thawing pipes and dealing with water main breaks, but what about this year? The frost line last year extended to historic levels, causing shifts in the soil causing water main breaks and freezing water in pipes making them burst.

Schwencke, a sophomore from Oslo, Norway, skied an impressive set of races at the CCSA Distance Championships at Wirth Park, winning the men's 20 kilometer classic mass start race, and taking second in the 10 kilometer freestyle race.

    According to the State Police, the incident occurred around 9 a.m. A 2001 red Honda two-door, driven by 23-year-old Kayla Gilstorff from Gwinn, was traveling eastbound on County Road 480 when she rear-ended the grader as it was plowing the road. Gilstorff and a three-year-old child was taken to UP Health System Marquette by UP Health System Bell EMS.
