    Linda Fruit was operating a 2006 Gold Dodge Grand Caravan on 2nd St. in Henderson when she ran a red light at the intersection of 2nd St. and Klutey Plaza Dr. Alvin Shimek was operating a 2012 Black Toyota Prius turning onto 2nd St. Mrs. Fruit collided with Mr. Shimek, pushing the vehicles into a white 1994 Lincoln Town Car operated by Halley Norris. Mr. Shimek was transported to Methodist Hospital in Henderson for a minor leg injury. 1 comment

    State transportation officials say interstate signs will be going up along another 41 miles of the new Interstate 69 corridor in western Kentucky by year's end. The state Transportation Cabinet says a $3.2 million contract to construct and place signs in Henderson, Hopkins and Webster counties has been awarded to Eden Fence Inc. The contract will extend I-69 signs along the former Edward T. Breathitt-Pennyrile Parkway from mile point 35.6 in Hopkins County to the Henderson Bypass at Exit 76. Officials say the contract includes updating signs along U.S. 41 and other nearby highways that now direct traffic to the parkway.
