That's the question being raised, after WDSU first reported a story on Tuesday night about a piece of student art, which sharply criticizes police. The shoulder patch on the officer's uniform featured a pig and the background showed silhouettes of protesters with their arms raised.

    A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a man dead and another injured Friday near the New Orleans Police Department headquarters. Alvin Richardson was arrested Saturday morning in Gretna after the NOPD issued an arrest warrant for him in connection with the shooting, which occurred after 2:30 p.m. Friday on Broad Street.

The Jefferson Parish Council gathered for the meeting Wednesday to discuss and approve the resolution to study the coal terminal proposed by RAM Terminals, LLC. It will be built in Plaquemines Parish and could bring expanded rail lines and trains full of uncovered coal through several Westbank communities.
