Arctic air blowing across Lake Michigan has led to hazardous travel conditions and several inches of snow, with another blast predicted by National Weather Service officials in Grand Rapids for this evening into tomorrow morning, and another expected by Friday.

According to Ottawa County Sheriff's Sergeant Kevin Allman, Ervin Rogers was driving eastbound around 10:40 AM and had just past the 8th Avenue exit in Marne when disaster struck.

National Weather Service officials in the Grand Rapids office say that between two and five inches could fall in a 16-hour span before the advisory expires at 7 AM tomorrow, with the possibility of rates of an inch an hour at times, as rain today turns into a wintry mix overnight.
