A Germantown startup called Kitchology was one of three companies in Montgomery County that was recently awarded low-interest loans to continue developing their businesses.

    A Germantown man was sentenced to 55 years in prison Wednesday for breaking into a home and stealing $14,000 in jewelry. James Cobb, 30, was found guilty in July of first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit first-degree burglary, and participating in a theft scheme, Cobb and an accomplice - who were already under surveillance by county police because they were suspected of several burglaries in the area - broke into a home in Germantown on Jan. 16. Cobb broke a basement window while his accomplice acted as a lookout; Cobb emerged a few minutes later.
