    The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office is searching for information regarding a reported theft that culminated with a store employee being struck by a car outside a Garberville business on Thursday. A female suspect reportedly attempting to steal jeans fled to an awaiting vehicle - described as a gold or beige mid-1990s sedan - when confronted by a female store employee around 2:40 p.m. The employee then tried to confront the male driver, who looked directly at the employee before accelerating the vehicle in the employee's direction, according to a sheriff's office press release.

In June of 2014, with the end of the GPU looming ever farther into the distance, and at the advice the Humboldt County Planning Department, Baleme started the process of a general plan amendment to rezone his property so he could subdivide it.

    The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office arrested a man on suspicion of felony drug possession, among other charges, Sunday in Garberville. Michael Russell was found to be in possession of approximately 19.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 1.1 grams of suspect heroin, and a methamphetamine pipe, according to a Sheriff's Office press release.

    The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office arrested Dennis Hicks outside of Ray's Food Place in Garberville on Sunday on suspicion of drug possession, according to a news release. The release states Hicks is currently on probation, and he was in possession of 2.4 grams of “suspected methamphetamine.” After conducting a search of Hicks' vehicle, a sheriff's office sergeant also found 15 pound of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
