The officer observed the Chevy cross a divided freeway from the S/B US-101 shoulder into the N/B US-101 traffic lanes.

    A man and women who allegedly tried to elude California Highway Patrol officers after a short chase near Garberville were arrested Sunday morning. CHP officials said Seth Robert Morton and Kali Sue Ann Griffith were arrested after being in possession of a stolen Chevy pickup and ATV.

    Two people were arrested last Wednesday following a probation search in a Garberville parking lot on Maple Lane, which led to Humboldt County sheriff's deputies seizing over an ounce of black tar heroin, five pounds of marijuana among other drug paraphernalia, according to a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office press release. The arrests were made after a sheriff's sergeant on patrol noticed a Ford Explorer parked in a private parking lot around 11:40 a.m. and contacted the two people inside the vehicle - Shaun Stringfellow and Heidi Durtsche.

    An unlicensed driver in Garberville was arrested Wednesday after approximately 16.2 grams of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 2.6 grams of suspected cocaine were found in his vehicle, according to a Humboldt County Sheriff's Office release. The driver, Robert Joseph Cullen, was questioned by a Sheriff's Deputy after parking off of Alderpoint Road in Garberville.

    A Recology Humboldt Company refuse disposal and recycling truck crashed into the bank on the east side of Sprowel Creek Road near the Southern Humboldt Community Park about 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 5 injuring the driver,and spilling fuel into the seasonal stream and drainage culvert. The driver of the single vehicle accident, 37-year-old Shiloh Viggers of Rio Dell, was taken by City Ambulance to Garberville hospital complaining of back pain, according to Tim Tietz, incident commander of the Garberville Fire Department.

The Redway resident's body was found near Tooby Memorial Park off Kitmu Road in Garberville on April 16, 2014.
