    A cat that attacked an person on Fletcher Street in Front Royal on Monday has tested positive for rabies, the Warren County Health Department reports. The domestic short hair orange tabby with white feet and white belly was found on Fletcher Street near the Happy Creek Bike Trail, where another rabid cat had been reported in June, according to a news release from the Lord Fairfax Health District.

    A panel of judges in Warren County Circuit Court on Tuesday approved a voluntary settlement agreement that called for Front Royal to annex 604.76 acres of undeveloped land in Warren County owned by the Front Royal Limited Partnership. The land lies northeast of town to north of Happy Creek Road, west of Shenandoah Shores Road and south of Interstate 66. The Supreme Court of Virginia appointed judges Nolan B. Dawkins, Sarah L. Deneke and Catherine C. Hammond to hear the case for the voluntary settlement agreement reached by Town Council, the Board of Supervisors and the landowner.

    Front Royal leaders voted Monday to give the old Town Hall to the Warren County Economic Development Authority as part of a swap for the Afton Inn. Specifically, Town Council voted 5-1 to adopt a resolution to approve the execution and recordation of a deed of bargain and sale of the former Town Hall, 16 N. Royal Ave. As part of the resolution they adopted, Town Council agreed to give 45 days notice to any party possibly connected or interested in the property transfer.
