    Sussex County Fire Marshal Joe Inga's attorney, reacting to an apparent cloud of uncertainty hanging over the county fire marshal's duties, has sent county officials a letter asking them to clarify specifically what activities Inga is authorized to perform in his dual capacity as the county's designated fire marshal and fire coordinator. The letter follows an administrative law judge's finding earlier this month that Inga was ineligible to enroll in the state pension system for police officers and firefighters, in part because as an investigative arm of law enforcement and as an adviser to local fire departments, the county fire marshal does not currently meet the required definition of a fireman under a state statute, N.J.S.A. 43:16A-1.
