Officials battling a gas leak in Acadia Parish have shut off gas in one line and are pumping nitrogen into the other line in hopes of pushing all the liquified petroleum gas out of the second line so they can get to source to stem the leak.

On May 13, 2014, the Eunice Board of Alderman terminated Fruge on the recommendation of former Eunice Police Chief Ronald Dies after an internal investigation into alleged misconduct.

The driver and 7 others were killed in the crash.
