    In June 2012, the City of Armstrong gave the county written notice that it wanted to cancel its dispatching agreement with the county and renegotiate the agreement. Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens canceled dispatching in December 2013 and a month later the county's law enforcement sharing agreement with Armstrong.
