    A man died during the 36 Pit Fire that ate thousands of forest acreage outside Estacada. He had a heart attack while riding his motorcycle near the junction of Highway 224 and Highway 57. An EMT and a paramedic with American Medical Response rushed to try and save the man, they were guided by a plow truck from the Oregon Department of Transportation.
