    Over 1,000 people marched in Doha, Qatar, in a show of solidarity with the family of three Muslim students killed last week in Chapel Hill, N.C. The shooting deaths of Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23; his wife, Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, 21 and her sister, Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19, have not been classified as a religiously-motivated hate crime, but the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Iyad Ameen Madani condemned their killings as a brutal crime that shocked the Muslim world, the Saudi Press Agency reported Monday . The FBI has opened what it called a "parallel preliminary inquiry" into the incident, which is a review which could become a formal investigation.

    The Doctors Without Borders humanitarian organization is launching the first clinical trials of new treatments next month for Ebola in West Africa, where the disease has now killed 5,100 people. The focus will be keeping people alive through the key first 14 days of the disease.The group, which will also be working with other French, Belgian and British researchers, will try two antiviral drugs from a World Health Organization shortlist along with blood and plasma therapy.
