    Alert south Vacaville residents put an end to a suspected burglar's career Tuesday morning by reporting a suspicious person who allegedly turned out to have stolen property and burglary tools in his car, according to Vacaville police. Police stopped Michael Hodge of Dixon at about 8:40 a.m. on the 700 block of Scottsdale Drive and a probation search of the car uncovered false evidence of registration, stolen property and burglary tools, according to a city press release.

    A Suisun City man was ordered to stand trial on Tuesday in connection with a fatal hit-and-run accident on Interstate 80 in Dixon last year. Solano County Superior Court Judge Wendy G. Getty issued the ruling following a lengthy probable cause hearing last week in the case for Damarea Williams-Evans, 21. The case stems from a collision on Interstate 80 on Jan. 31, 2014 in which Williams-Evans allegedly merged onto the freeway from the shoulder as a passing motorist drove by, causing the other driver to careen off the roadway into a ditch.
