    According to CPW investigators, the intact carcasses of two elk were discovered the morning of Nov. 6, approximately 100 yards north of Highway 40 near milepost 17. They were found lying 150 yards apart and each bull appears to have been killed before sunrise by a single shot from a high-powered rifle. The carcass of a third bull elk was found the morning of Nov. 12 on the south side of Highway 40 near milepost 6, near the Dinosaur National Monument Visitor's Center.

    A 35-year-old climber was rescued Saturday afternoon following a 20-foot fall in the Dinosaur Rock area on the Mallory Cave Trail, Boulder County sheriff's officials reported. Personnel from Rocky Mountain Rescue Group, AMR Ambulance, Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks and the Boulder County Sheriff's Office responded to the fallen climber call around 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

    Here's a ride report from the Northwest portion of the great State of Colorado back to the Denver Metro area, back in June of this year. If you're going to be riding in this area, CO Hwy 139, which is part of the Dinosaur Diamond Scenic Byway, is a much better choice for riding from Denver to Rangely.
