For the past 72 years, Glover had remained an active firefighter holding many positions throughout the Fire Company, and served as an active member of the Cutchogue Fire Department Fire Police Squad until his death. He served as Chief of the Cutchogue Fire Department in 1963 and 1964 and at the time of his passing was Cutchogue Fire Department's most senior Ex-Chief.
