    A Columbia man was sentenced to 15 years in prison last week in connection with the beating of another Columbia man in January that left the man unable to walk, speak or feed himself, according to Howard County prosecutors. Johnny Ray Hungerford Jr., 43, of the 5600 block of Stevens Forest Road, was convicted on assault charges earlier this year in the Jan. 18 beating of Joseph Alexander Harris, 55, in a parking lot near the Oakland Mills Village Center.
