    An unidentified driver from Porterville was killed early Thursday in a one-car crash east of Coalinga, the California Highway Patrol reported. The crash took place about 4:30 a.m. as the driver, in a 2003 Toyota sedan, was westbound on Jayne Avenue approaching Interstate 5. The car drifted across eastbound lanes, onto a dirt shoulder and into an irrigation ditch on the south side of the roadway, where it slammed into a concrete pipe.
