Juan Cruz and Associates, representing Clint, appealed to the state Supreme Court after the Eighth District Court of Appeals in September reinstated the lawsuit, which had been dismissed by a state district court.

Documents obtained by the El Paso Times through the Open Records Act show the district has paid Juan Cruz and Associates, LLC, nealry $94,000 since the 2012-13 school year to fight the equal rights lawsuit.
