    Clearfield's Citizen Patrol is a special group of law enforcement volunteers who, after being screened, undergoing background checks, and being trained by the Clearfield City Police Department, patrol the community acting as "eyes and ears" for law enforcement. By patrolling on a regular basis, usually in four-hour shifts, Citizen Patrol volunteers become more familiar with the community and are better able to recognize suspicious activity and notify authorities.

    Utah State senior linebacker Zach Vigil has been named the America First Credit Union USU Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sunday, Nov. 23 it was announced Monday, in an award that is voted on by a state-wide media panel. Utah State senior linebacker Zach Vigil, a 6-foot-2, 240-pound senior from Clearfield, Utah , was named a College Football Performance Awards honorable mention national linebacker of the week as he recorded 19 tackles, which included 3.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in Utah State's 41-7 Mountain West home win against San Jose State last weekend.

Strong winds of up to 50 mph helped push flames 40 feet high and darkened Antelope Drive during the 2:30 p.m. Sunday fire, which drew multiple agencies to the scene.
