The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. near the Carpinteria Avenue offramp from Highway 101, and the victim suffered "significant injuries," said fire Battalion Chief Jim Ramption.

In my estimation the need for the station improvements in Summerland and Carpinteria is unquestionable, and passage of a bond now will allow our community to fund these facilities while interest rates remain very low.
