    The Canyon Independent School District Board of Trustees has selected Frenship Independent School District administrator Darryl Flusche to replace retiring Superintendent Mike Wartes. According to a report by the Amarillo Globe-News, the Canyon school board named Flusche, Frenship ISD's assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, its lone finalist for the position during its regular meeting on April 16. Flusche, who has been with Frenship for 27 years, said in a phone interview he thought the superintendent position was a good opportunity in taking the next step in his career.
