Richards properly denied youthful offender status for a former SUNY Canton student serving an 11-year state prison sentence for stabbing another student in 2008. Roody J. Dorfeuille, 24, an inmate at Bare Hill Correctional Facility, Malone, was convicted along with Darryl G. Tucker of first- and second-degree gang assault and first- and second-degree assault at County Court trial in May 2009 and both were originally sentenced in July 2009 to 12 years in prison.
