The commission found that Republican Byron Watson commingled Clean Election funds with money in a personal account and that he failed to keep adequate records of transactions, in violation of the Maine Clean Election Act, during his 2014 run for the House.

    A Brunswick woman was arrested Tuesday night after she allegedly led Waldoboro police officers on a high-speed chase on Route 1 to Newcastle and assaulted law enforcement officers after she was stopped, according to Chief Bill Labombarde. At approximately 9:45 p.m., Waldoboro police Officers Tom Bartunek and John Lash received word to be on the lookout for a light-colored sport utility vehicle traveling north on Route 1. Bartunek, who had just finished filling his vehicle with gas, observed a silver SUV traveling southbound at a high rate of speed and passing another vehicle in front of the gas station, Labombarde said.
