    A 76-year-old driver from Clayton, Wash., was killed and a passenger injured in a rear-end crash early Thursday on Highway 97 about 12 miles south of Bend, Oregon State Police reported. An investigation found that a Ford F350 pickup truck driven by Zeke Hacker was heading south when it struck a southbound Ford Expedition SUV directly ahead of it, Russo said.

Coughlin said Wednesday the family of Edwin Mays plan to file a wrongful death lawsuit in state courts and a federal civil rights lawsuit, claiming jail staff neglected 31-year-old Mays and left him to overdose and die in his jail cell the night of Dec. 14, 2014.
