A Freeport resident who did not wish to be identified, but whose story was confirmed by several police sources, was one of the individuals whose car was broken into at Foreside Fitness in Falmouth.

    Two drivers avoided serious injury after their vehicles collided in the intersection of Patterson Hill Road and Robbins Road in Belfast the morning of Jan. 10. Belfast Police Officer Wendell Ward said Eldon Loblein was driving on Patterson Hill Road toward Robbins Road in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder at 8:20 a.m. when he failed to see Keith Welch driving in the direction of Swan Lake Avenue in a 2002 Honda Accord. Welch also failed to notice Loblein because the sun was shining into his eyes, Ward said.
