    Midcoast Actors' Studio will open its first production of the 2015 season, "Venus in Fur," Friday night, Feb. 13, at The Playhouse, 107 Church St. Performances will be Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays 5 p.m. through March 1. David Ives' "Venus in Fur" focuses on Thomas Novachek , the writer-director of a new play opening in New York City. This play-within-a-play is an adaptation of the 1870 novel "Venus in Furs" by the Austrian author Leopold von Sacher-Masoch, the novel that inspired the term masochism.
