    "We went door-to-door and asked them if they'd decorate their windows," said town employee Lisa Stinnett, who is organizing this year's Christmas parade. Canton hopes to light up its downtown this holiday season and will kick things off with its annual Christmas Parade and tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, Dec. 4. Stinnett has been approaching downtown businesses, almost as eagerly as a Christmas caroler, asking them to be a part of the town's celebration that includes a kickoff on Thursday.
