A year later, Gracie boarded the Wings of Rescue jet in Bakersfield and flown to Silverdale, Wash., where she will stay with the Kitsap Humane Society until a new home is located for her. On Friday, April 10, a dozen Have a Heart Humane Society volunteers made a sentimental journey to Bakersfield's Epic Jet Center to help load more than 150 dogs and cats from local shelters and a few rescue groups.
