    Ashland, Kentucky, to James Carl and Violet Carr Walker, Joe had lived in Richmond since the early 1970's. He was self-employed working in masonry and carpentry work. Joe also worked at Harshaw Chemical Company for 14 years. He loved camping, fishing, and going to flea markets. The last two years, he was best known for selling ice cream to his camping family. Joe never knew a stranger and always made people laugh. He was a wonderful dad, grandfather, and husband. Survivors include his wife, Wilma Bland Walker, to whom he was married on August 2, 1986; seven children, Denise (Ray) Jenkins of Lucasville, Ohio, Teresa (Tom) Pipenger of Centerville, Benita (Joel) Hethcoat of Chicago, Illinois, Ginger (Ed) Martin of Centerville, Traci (Steve) Rowe of Eubank, Kentucky, Jody (Claudia Phillips) Walker of Cleveland, Ohio, and Tina (Tim) Hall of Richmond; 19 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Anita Francis of Ashland, Kentucky, Barbara (Charles) Hamilton of Wurtland, Kentucky, Brenda Wagner of Ashland, Kentucky, and Carolyn Twinam of Ashland, Kentucky; other extended family; camping family; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Carl "Jay" Walker; and sister, Dorothy Walker. Visitation for Joseph A. Walker will be from 12 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. Bud Parrish officiating. Burial will be in Bryan Cemetery, Centerville. Memorial contributions may be made to: Reid Hospital Foundation for the Hospice Program, 1100 Reid Parkway, Richmond, IN 47374.
