    While the debate on Kinder Morgan's proposed 250-mile natural gas pipeline will continue to rage on, I keep scratching my head trying to understand exactly why it is a good idea in the first place. To be sure, there is a ready answer from the utility industry - the pipeline is needed to move enough natural gas into the region on really cold days.
