    ANTWERP The Antwerp Local School Board approved a 10 cent increase in daily lunch prices, a 100 percent tax abatement for Dr. Sarah Mowery, DDS of real property taxes and heard the year end reports from the principals and superintendent. The 10 cent increase in lunches will place the cost at $2.85 for grades 6-12; $2.60 for grades kindergarten-fifth grade; and $3.60 for adults.

    ANTWERP In a brief meeting of the Antwerp Village Council on Monday, members approved increased coverage of personal property and liability insurance, passed an emergency ordinance authorizing paying a portion of the cost of the lift station installation in the Colony subdivision. Village insurance is due for renewal with an annual premium of $28,815, or $788 more than last year.

    ANTWERP Wayne Trace picked up its first win of the season as the Raiders scored seven runs in the second and pulled away from Paulding County and Green Meadows Conference rival Antwerp for a 10-1 victory in baseball action at the home of the Archers. The victory was a total team effort as seven different Raiders recorded hits and four had at least two runs batted in as Wayne Trace improved to 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the conference.

    ANTWERP Indiana made the trip across the state line and swept the Ohio teams in both the boys and girls all-star games on Saturday night at Antwerp. In the second annual all-star classic sponsored by Parkview Sports Medicine, Indiana held on to defeat Ohio in the girls match up 36-32 while in the boys game it was the Indiana squad shooting past the Ohio contingent 74-70 to complete the sweep.

    Last Thursday, April 16, members and guests of the Paulding County Park District board were treated to a tour of the 270-plus acre Forrest Woods Nature Preserve near Antwerp by representatives of the Black Swamp Conservancy. Also on the tour, the board showed off some of the properties along the Maumee River and Rochester Park that they hope to turn into recreational areas to be used by the public.
