    Law enforcement officials from Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Carolina and Tennessee will participate in the I-40 enforcement program, which will consist of increased patrols along the I-40 corridor. AMARILLO - DPS was joined today by city, state and federal officials to announce its participation in the Interstate 40 Challenge traffic enforcement campaign in an effort to reduce traffic fatalities during the heavily traveled Thanksgiving holiday period "The Thanksgiving holiday is one of the busiest travel periods on roadways in Texas and across the nation, and these enhanced patrols will help keep travelers safe by targeting dangerous and distracted drivers," said DPS Region 5 Commander Gary Albus.
