The event, which is free and open to the public, begins with a document viewing period from 5 to 6 p.m. The public hearing is scheduled to take place from 6 to 9 p.m. The draft environmental impact report proposes five alternatives regarding a 4.5-mile gap between the freeway's end points in the cities of Alhambra and Pasadena. Lourene "Lou" Vail - an educator who taught in every La Caada school and was a longtime history teacher at La Caada High School - died Nov. 2 after suffering a stroke in Alhambra. She was 95. Born April 30, 1919 in Washington, D.C., Vail moved with her parents to Los Angeles in 1920. Comment?
