    SPRINGFIELD - An octogenarian accountant from Agawam has been permanently barred from preparing tax returns and must pay back nearly $500,000 in connection with a federal embezzlement case. U.S. District Court Judge Michael A. Ponsor on Thursday ordered 86-year-old James F. Hansmann to pay $86,692 to the Internal Revenue Service and $408,035 in restitution to a former corporate client.

Harman, his two passengers and the driver of the second vehicle, 39-year-old Jason Wood of Palmer, were taken by ambulance to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of minor injuries, state police said, Along with the drunken driving charge, Harman denied charges of marked lanes violation, speeding, negligent operation and possession of an open container.
