Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they responded to a breaking and entering and assault call around 1 a.m. at an apartment on Sharon Road West near South Blvd. The victim told police that a man stole her car, and a short time later a CMPD officer located the suspect at a gas station at Statesville Road and Interstate 85. A pursuit then took place and police had to use stop sticks to disable the car on Reames Road near Sunset Road.
