    Joe Dumars helped deliver aN NBA championship in 2004 as the Detroit Pistons' president of basketball operations, but it's probably fair to say he had more misses than hits during 14 years as the top man in the organization. Sure, Dumars landed Ben Wallace in a trade with the Orlando Magic for Grant Hill, signed Chauncey Billups as a free agent when his career was floundering and acquired Rasheed Wallace before the trade deadline in 2004 to give the Pistons the final piece to their championship puzzle.
