Chevrolet used the spotlight of SEMA to showcase the completed restoration of the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil prototype that was damaged after falling into the sinkhole that opened up in the middle of the NCM's skydome in February.

    On March 3, 2014, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 "Blue Devil" was the first car recovered from a sinkhole that opened up and swallowed eight Corvettes at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in February of 2014. Though the Blue Devil had fallen nose first into the gaping hole and been damaged, the Corvette fired up and was driven out of the National Corvette Museum Skydome under its own power after it was lifted from the wreckage.

Chevrolet's answer is quite impressive, as the company announced preliminary performance figures for this supercharged beast, including a sub-11-second quarter mile time and more than 1.0 g of lateral acceleration. We're pretty astonished at the quoted 0-60 mph time of 2.95 seconds, although maybe we shouldn't be considering that the Z06's 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 pumps out 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque.
