For most Americans, March Madness is an activity contested indoors. In Alaska, March is the time Alaskans take the madness outside.

For the first time in three race days at the U.S. Cross Country Championships in Rumford, Maine, Alaskans didn't ski circles around everyone else.

Lars Flora and Sadie Bjornsen, a pair of Alaska Pacific University skiers, led an onslaught today at the U.S. Cross Country Championship in Rumford, Maine, that left Alaska skiers with five of the six medals awarded.
