When director Paul Thornton assembled his dream cast for " Irving Berlin 's White Christmas," he was afraid of only one thing.

"White Christmas," a musical based on the 1954 film, will be performed at the Kalamazoo Civic Auditorium beginning Friday and running through Dec.

"White Christmas," starring Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen, has become a Christmas staple since its release in 1954, and Irving Berlin's songs have been sung by generations of people.

Edinburgh has long been a draw-card for many major Holywood names. It's perhaps fitting, then, that some of Hollywood's biggest names will help curate this year's Film Festival, given the long association between the two cities.
