One of the most anticipated shows of the last few months has definitely been Thurston Moore at the Texas Theatre tonight.

If you look at the direction of Thurston Moore's three solo records - released over the span of 16 years starting in 1995 - you can't help but notice he's getting further away from Sonic Youth.

Thurston Moore needs a name for his new band. At Maxwell's in Hoboken on Friday night, he rhapsodized about his crush on actress Eliza Dushku - she played the evil slayer Faith on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" - and announced he was henceforth calling the group Dush Krew.

"Why can't we play facing this way?" Thurston Moore asked during his February 2nd acoustic, solo concert at New York's Allen Room, turning from the audience and gazing through the floor-to-ceiling glass behind his band.

Jones ties the final ribbons on a new 10-song LP titled Gualamata this week - and judging by the samples available, the record is a pretty compelling meld of indie-blues and lushly arranged psychpop.
