Throwing Muses News

It's the second year that music tech has had a category of its own, and I've been honored to serve on the advisory board and first round jury for both years.

Founded by Kristin Hersh of Throwing Muses and Donita Sparks of L7, Cash Music is a nonprofit organization building open-source tools and services to benefit artists and music organizations with the belief that the need for technology should never get in the way of great music.

Following several years in Throwing Muses, as well as a brief detour in the Breeders in 1990, Tanya Donelly formed her own band, Belly, in 1992.

Hosted by local power-pop stalwarts the The Vivs , the lineup includes some can't-miss local and national acts, including a rare show by the legendary Big Dipper .

Kristin Hersh, a solo artist known for performing with bands Throwing Muses and 50 Foot Wave, will make her Cape Cod debut Saturday with a concert and reading in Woods Hole.
