The CBS network made the announcement via Twitter yesterday afternoon saying "#CBS welcomes back #CriminalMinds for its 9th season.

Back in March, CBS announced renewals for 14 of its current shows for the 2013-2014 season.

" Criminal Minds " season 8 continues this week with episode 21, "Nanny Dearest," and on Tuesday, May 7, CBS released a sneak peek giving the background on a case that has stretched over multiple years.

CBS ' long-running crime drama Criminal Minds once again is going down to the wire in securing the cast for next season.
