The Smithereens are playing an almost-hometown show at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 2 at the Woodbridge Middle School, 525 Barron Ave.. ` The band, whose hits include "Blood and Roses," "Drown in My Own Tears" and "Only a Memory," have several members from nearby Carteret.
