City Stages 2009: How I Became the Bomb review

Nashville's How I Became the Bomb couldn't look more eclectic. Their guitarist looks appropriate for "Blazing Saddles," while the bass player looks straight out of "Reservoir Dogs." The lead singer? "Saturday Night Fever." But it wasn't their looks that gathered a respectable crowd at the Boost Mobile Discovery Stage on a hot Saturday afternoon.

From the eponymous album, Gutter Ballet is a masterpiece in every sense. A soothing piano intro, Jon Oliva's searing vocals and a soaring guitar solo by Criss Oliva give it a quality hard to match.
