Black Keys' Patrick Carney doesn't regret dissing Bieber or Michael Jackson's Xscape

The Black Keys' Patrick Carney is seen performing at this year's Glastonbury Festival in the U.K. When it comes to annoying concert behaviours, you won't find The Black Keys ' drummer Patrick Carney among the legions of musicians who hate cellphones. The Black Keys work fans into fever at Consol

After a colloquial greeting of "Hello Pittsburgh, how yinz doing?" from front man started off the set with a merciless pounding of his drum kit on the opener "Dead and Gone," from their 2011 album "El Camino" and was relentless in his assault on the skins throughout the show. Followed by "Next Girl," the signature gritty guitar work of kicked into high gear and ripped through "Run Right Back," "Same Old Thing" and "Gold on the Ceiling" with a ferocity that seems like the louder it's played, the better it sounds.

Album of the week: Emarosa - Versus

For the unaware, Lorde beat out Arctic Monkeys, Imagine Dragons, and The Black Keys to win the Video Music Award for "best rock video" at this year's ceremony. It's not that the talented, young musician doesn't deserve honor for her ambient, dark pop: more that her song seemed shoved in the category simply because they ran out of choices.
