Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard is helping make New York City a little greener.
Gossard is planting trees with hundreds of volunteers Saturday at a park in Brooklyn. The event is part of the city's effort to plant 1 million new trees in the next decade. The volunteers are planting 450 trees near Livonia Park in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn.
Gossard was to perform later Saturday night at an eco-festival to encourage green causes.
