"Dancing with the Stars" viewers expected crazy antics when "Jackass" performer Steve-O joined the show this year, but what it took for him to overcome drug abuse and exhibit ballroom manners is another story.

Steve-O made a career out of never saying no. Snort a blob of super-spicy wasabi? Sure! Let a lobster clamp down on his tongue? Bring it on! His life as an over-the-top yes man, however, brought with it much darker results than singed nasal passages or a bloodied mouth.

Sometimes, being a movie critic takes you places you never thought you'd go. I wish I was talking about glamorous premieres , but I'm thinking more of screenings, at local multiplexes, of movies I'd otherwise never see.

A couple of dramas end their runs , probably forever. A couple of successful shows return with rabid fans hungry for more.
