Open house slated Thursday in Forks for 'Twilight'-related weekend
An open house will kick off Stephenie Meyer Day/Bella's Birthday Weekend celebrations at the Forks Chamber of Commerce's Visitor Center, 1411 S. Forks Ave., from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday. The public is invited for photo opportunities with the Olympic Coven in the rainforest, outside the city sign, with Bella's trucks, with Charlie's police cruiser and more.
'Innocence': Ready for more teen vampires?
If the unabashedly pulpy supernatural thriller "Innocence" means to win over the same young-adult crowd that lapped up "Twilight," it needs to do more than coast on the draft created by that teenage-vampire juggernaut. Like Stephenie Meyer's saga and the hit movies it spawned, "Innocence" may have an attractive young heroine who falls under the spell of a cabal of bloodsuckers, but it's a lazy piece of work, even by the low standards of Hollywood horror movies.
